A night of overlapping light and art - We exhibited at the "Candle Night Festival"
December 7, 2024.
On a quiet night as the footsteps of winter approached, I had the opportunity to set up a solo exhibition booth at the Candle Night Festival, held at the East Garden of Kibagata Park in Ishikawa Prefecture .
This event is truly an "evening of light and ideas intersecting," where local artists and creators will showcase their work while surrounded by gently flickering candlelight.
I, Doodle, participated in the event with my original T-shirt design and 150 limited edition stickers to coincide with this fantastical evening.
The result was...
The T-shirts were so popular they sold out immediately!
All 150 palm-sized stickers with messages of appreciation were also sold out.
In the candlelight, people approached us saying, "Please give me this!" and "I fell in love with it at first sight." Children and families stopped by our booth in the cold.
Each conversation I had with everyone felt like a warm light was lit in my heart.
What made me happiest was,
"I want to come back next year wearing this T-shirt!"
"I'll put the sticker on my phone."
--I'm so glad to have received so many comments like that.
It was an evening that made me realize once again the power of art to gently support someone's everyday life.
With the atmosphere of that night and this feeling of gratitude in my heart, I will continue to believe in the "power of graffiti" and continue to create new shapes, one piece at a time.
I hope we can meet again in that light next year.
